DMAP’s Primary Sponsor is the Department of Defense’s Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA). The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) provides partial funding to DMAP.

Office of Economic Adjustment, Department of Defense

The OEA is focused on assisting small and medium sized businesses affected by substantial DOD program changes and minimizing the economic impact on communities. Additionally, the OEA coordinates efforts between federal, state, and local resources to develop adjustment plans and provide information on federal assistance programs used to support community economic development. OEA regional adjustment strategies target job creation, business development, workforce development, and community economic diversification to improve regional economic health and stability.

DMAP is funded by a grant through the OEA’s Defense Industry Adjustment Program.
